Abstract
The progress of science causes the emergence of new words and terms; therefore, the pioneers of any scientific field first compile the terms to facilitate its correct understanding by readers. The subject of this article Book Review of A dictionary of Critical Terms by Bakhtiar Sadjadi, which was published in 2022. The most obvious feature of this dictionary is that the term formation process is based on the grammatical structure of the Kurdish language; therefore, the influence of the terms of this dictionary is notable in the flourishing of criticism in the Kurdish language. In multilingual dictionaries, the grammatical structure of the equivalent terms in the first language should be the same as the grammatical structure of the terms in the second and third languages. The most important results of writing this dictionary are: equalization and accurate translation of terms, the elimination of tasteful (literary) terms, and reduction of confusion among Kurdish researchers in choosing terms. Writing a dictionary, especially a dictionary of terms, is a quite difficult task that requires the cooperation of experts in various scientific fields; however, Sadjadi has been able to carry out such an brilliant and exhausting research due to his skills and knowledge in English, Kurdish and Persian languages and literature. Sadjadi is one of the contemporary thinkers and critics who has made a significant contribution to the localization of criticism in the Kurdish language. Undoubtedly, such efforts give us hope for the formation of literary criticism in the Kurdish language.
